LOGINventory 3.20 is up to three times faster than the previous version. It can now also be administered across a network from a single workstation and does not require installation on client PCs. One of the key enhancements with LOGINventory 3.20 is its support for Oracle 8i/9i databases, in addition to SQL Server and Access. It also adds support for the identification of software packets installed with NetSupports software distribution tool, NetInstall, allowing IT administrators to identify successful and failed installations of software updates across a network.LOGINventory 3.20 should also help simplify the surveillance and management of software licences by permitting grouping. This means that unimportant or irrelevant software programs, such as those that are not subject to any licensing or expiration restrictions, can be removed from reports. Additionally, its now possible to label freeware accordingly and to provide an expiry date for subscription-based licences.The latest release includes support for multiple versions of Windows operating systems installed on a single PC. Each operating system is allocated a Unit Identification (UID), making it possible to distinguish the individual components installed in each operating system. A PCs complete history is preserved even if it is subsequently redeployed elsewhere in a network. Administrators can also restrict the number of simultaneous scans per IP range or domains, for deployment in heterogeneous environments, and to use different accounts.LOGINventory can be downloaded for free for up to 20 PC clients. Free upgrades from earlier versions are also available. Licences for companies with more PCs can be purchased directly from LOGIN (from $3.60 to $9.60 per PC), with prices varying according to the size of the network.
